Job summary

TPF Recruitment Ltd represents a prestigious mid-tier Chartered Accountants firm in Reading seeking an Audit Manager to lead the Audit & Assurance team. The role focuses on managing a large client portfolio, planning assignments, briefing staff, and ensuring audit quality and timeliness.

Responsibilities include driving advisory engagements, mentoring juniors, and identifying new business opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience at the managerial level in audit.
• Ability to manage client portfolios and build lasting relationships.
• Familiarity with SME sector auditing advantageous.
• Charity sector experience desirable but not required.
• Adept at business development and client proposals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee client assignments in line with procedures, including cost estimations and billing.
• Maintain audit quality and contribute to QA activities.
• Brief staff on client nuances and pre-assignment directives.
• Ensure timely completion within budget and address issues with the assignment partner and client.
• Develop robust client relationships and provide excellent service.
• Collaborate across departments to meet client needs and opportunities.
• Stay current with technical developments through CPD and industry updates.
• Identify new business opportunities and prepare proposals and client presentations.
• Mentor students and/or junior staff within the team.
