Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking an Associate Director - SHE Regulated Operations to manage regulator-facing licences, permits and compliance for the Macclesfield Campus. You will coordinate regulatory input across PT&D and R&D and oversee the AI toolset and regulatory trackers.

The role requires a DGSA certification, strong UK regulatory knowledge, and a proven track record in regulated environments. You will drive audits, training, and cross-functional regulatory initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or related field.
• DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser) certification.
• Experience in regulated environmental and chemical compliance at industrial sites.
• Strong working knowledge of UK EA permitting, REACH, dangerous goods regulations, and Home Office Controlled Drugs licensing.
• Track record of credible regulator engagement.

Responsibilities

• Hold the consolidated regulator-facing licence and permit estate and emissions inventory.
• Lead the EA breach-notification workflow and post-breach remediation tracking.
• Oversee regulatory impact assessment for new substances and novel chemistry.
• Own environmental waste governance and hazardous waste registrations.
• Manage training programme for Dangerous Goods and controlled drugs.
