Job summary

Pinsent Masons is recruiting a Senior Associate or Managing Senior Associate to join its market-leading Technology, Media & Telecommunications team, specialising in data licensing, data commercialisation and strategic technology transactions.

The role is based in London with potential for other UK offices, offering exposure to leading banks, asset managers and financial institutions on high-value data-driven matters.

Qualifications

• Experience advising on licensing of financial market data.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead complex technology and data transactions.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers.
• Comfort working with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Advising, drafting and negotiating financial market data licensing agreements.
• Analysing licensing agreements to advise on permitted uses, including AI.
• Advising on audits and contractual remediation projects.
• Drafting and negotiating technology and commercial agreements.
• Supporting AI and machine-learning data initiatives.
• Managing multi-stakeholder negotiations among global institutions and providers.
• Collaborating with IP, regulatory and corporate teams.
• Supporting business development to grow the data licensing practice.
