Key Objective: Working alongside the Merchandiser to ensure all products are in the right stores to enable the achievement of departmental sales, markdown, stock, intake, and profit plans. Substitute for the Merchandiser in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

Planning

• Review previous season with the Merchandiser and Buyer and capture lessons learned.
• Create the strategy for the department alongside the Merchandiser and Buyer and present it.
• Review the SMT plan at Buyer Group/Season annually with guidance from the Merchandiser and apply the plan at the Category/Season level to meet the Buyer Group/Season plan.
• Develop a quarterly plan at the Category/Season level with the Merchandiser and Buyer to submit a plan on the System that reflects the optimal product mix to deliver KPIs.
• Ensure that the Buy matches the plan Buy.
• Own the quarterly range plan at Store level in conjunction with the Merchandiser and Buyer.
• Attend selection meetings with the Merchandiser, Buyer, and suppliers.
• Maintain Line Cards on core styles and take appropriate actions.

Trading

• Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identify issues, and plan actions for the weekly trading meetings.
• Propose and agree on actions to recover risks and maximize opportunities with the Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line level.
• Capture all agreed actions in the monthly forecast reviews for relevant categories or departments.
• Attend monthly WSSI meetings with your Merchandiser and Merchandise Manager to gain approval, including forecasting sales variances to plan, creation of OTBs, and management of commitments such as on-time delivery, rebuys, and cancellations.
• Propose markdown strategies.
• Manage the range plan in-season, reflecting any changes.
• Own the performance of non-organic stores.
• Manage intake at category and line level in conjunction with the team.
• Take responsibility for concept stores.

Teamwork

• Report to the Merchandiser.
• Collaborate with the Merchandise Team and Buyer.
• Develop relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, DC, etc., as appropriate.
• Attend all system courses to ensure full utilization of the System.
• Adhere to the Merchandise Calendar delivery plans and forecasts as required.
• Achieve company sales, margins, and stock plans.
