Job summary

Central East Integrated Care Board seeks a Senior Assistant Administrator (NHS AfC Band 5) in Ely to provide high-quality administrative and coordination support. You will work with senior managers, HR and finance teams to ensure governance, day-to-day operations and timely project delivery.

The role focuses on people processes, financial administration and programme delivery, including producing high-quality written outputs for the Directorate Team.

Job overview

The Senior Assistant Administrator provides high quality administrative, coordination, and organisational support across a range of corporate and programme functions within the ICB. Working closely with senior managers, programme leads, and HR and finance teams, the postholder ensures smooth day to day operations, effective governance, and timely delivery of key activities. This role supports people related processes, financial administration, and programme and project delivery, contributing to efficient service management and strong organisational performance. The postholder acts as a reliable point of contact, maintains accurate records and reporting, and helps ensure that teams are well supported to deliver strategic priorities across the Integrated Care System. The post holder supports production of high quality written outputs from the Directorate Team.

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive administrative support to programme and project teams, including scheduling, documentation, reporting, and coordination of key activities.

Provide comprehensive administrative support for internal communications activities, including scheduling, document management, and coordination with team members to ensure smooth delivery of projects.

Assist in drafting, editing, and publishing engaging content across internal channels, such as newsletters, intranet updates, and staff announcements, ensuring accuracy and consistency of messaging.

Support HR-related processes such as recruitment administration, onboarding, maintaining workforce records, and coordinating mandatory training compliance.

Assist with financial administration, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices, tracking budgets, and supporting financial reporting

Qualifications
  • Evidence of continuous professional development, demonstrating commitment to maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge.
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in health, social care, business administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification appropriate to the role (e.g. degree level or equivalent experience).
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in providing administrative and coordination support for projects, workstreams, or service delivery within a health or care setting
  • Understanding of NHS structures, Integrated Care Systems (ICS), and awareness of the principles of the NHS Long Term Plan
  • Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to achieve shared objectives.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to agreed timescales and standards
  • Familiarity with governance, compliance, and financial procedures in a public sector or healthcare environment
