Job summary

Sirona care & health CIC is recruiting a Public Health Nursing Administrator in Bristol to join the BNSSG Public Health Nursing Admin Team. The role is 30 hours per week with part-time arrangements, flexible working and NHS benefits.

You will provide admin support to the Public Health Nursing service, handle enquiries, arrange appointments, perform data entry, and manage diaries using EMIS. NHS salary band 3 with pro rata terms and annual leave.

Qualifications

  • Good GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Typing qualification to RSA Level 2.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to client enquiries via written, face to face or telephone.
  • Make appointments for the Public Health Nursing team per admin processes.
  • Input data for the Public Health Nursing Service using IT resources and templates.
  • Electronic filing within client records.
  • Photocopying, printing and scanning as appropriate.
  • Manage staff diaries and daily tasks using EMIS.
  • Support admin colleagues during periods of absence as part of a team.
  • Collaborate across the service supporting other teams when required.

The BNSSG Public Health Nursing Service has an opportunity for a permanent Administrator to become a member of the Bristol East & Central Public Health Nursing Admin Team.

You will need to have excellent IT and communication skills and a proven ability to quickly build effective working relationships with a range of different people.

Please note there are 3 posts available: -

1 - 4 day - Mon, Wed & Fri plus either Tue or Thu - 9am - 5pmbased at East Trees Health Centre

1 - 3 day - Wed, Thu & Fri - 9am - 5pm based at East Trees Health Centre.

1 - 3 day - Wed, Thu & Fri - 9am - 5pm based at Osprey Court

Main duties of the job
  • Responding to client enquires via written, face to face or via the telephone.
  • Making appointments on behalf of the Public Health Nursing team as per service admin processes.
  • Inputting of data specific to the Public Health Nursing Service, using appropriate IT resources and templates.

  • Working effectively as a whole service admin team which involves supporting admin colleagues during periods of absence.
  • Working collaboratively across the service by supporting other teams and bases as and when required.

Person specification
Qualifications
  • Good standard of education at GCSE level (9-4/A-C) including English language and Maths or equivalent.
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Business Administration or other relevant subject, or experience obtained in a relevant role. Willingness to undertake further essential training
  • Typing qualification to RSA Level 2
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, ordering systems and data collection.
  • Previous Administration experience dealing with telephone enquiries, correspondence and office administration.
  • Evidence organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience and understanding of dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience of team working
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to maintain relevant records and information systems.
  • Able to solve day to day problems and demonstrates a methodical approach to work organisation.
  • Experience of working in a Healthcare or community setting
  • Knowledge of patient administration systems, such as EMIS, Microsoft and Power BI.
  • An understanding of Equality and Diversity policies.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the Data Protection Act and understanding of the compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety.
