Job summary

The Senior Production Technician role sits in the Pharmacy Team’s clinical trials work within the aseptic unit, supporting a research portfolio. It involves setting up studies, dispensing aseptic trial prescriptions, and ensuring accurate drug accountability, with weekend and late rota cover.

Strong GMP/GDP knowledge and GPhC registration are essential. You will design trial documents, train staff, and participate in cross-site activities, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services or Science Manufacturing Technician or equivalent.
• GPhC or Science Council registration.
• APDM attendance.
• Experience in GMP or QC laboratory environments.
• Experience preparing aseptic products.
• Evidence of CPD and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Dispense aseptic clinical trial prescriptions.
• Set up and manage studies with aseptically dispensed investigational products.
• Produce sterile parenteral products for named patients in standard care and research.
• Design and produce trial worksheets, labels and documents.
• Write trial procedures and manage storage of investigational products.
• Monitor temperatures and maintain drug accountability.
• Attend monitoring visits and support cross-site working.
• Train staff according to SOPs and support safe QA processes.
• Cover weekend and late rota as required.
