Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy or Science Manufacturing Technician to join the Aseptic Services team in Manchester. You will supervise technical staff, organize aseptic production, and deliver GMP training while supporting QA tasks under the Aseptic Services Manager.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS include leading staff development, coordinating validations, and ensuring compliant workflows within a challenging, high‑spec environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services and GPhC registration are required.
• Or Aseptic Pharmaceutical Science Manufacturing Technician level 3 with Science Council registration.
• Open to pre-registration trainees or nearing qualification with progression potential.
• Post is Band 4–5, with progression until competencies are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technical staff, including HR duties (e.g. PDRs).
• Organise the safe and efficient production of aseptically prepared products.
• Deliver full training to production staff on GMP activities.
• Coordinate operator validations and competency checks.
• Coordinate workflow and staffing to ensure timely patient care.
• Revise SOPs and implement changes as needed.
• Manage consumables and sanitisation products usage.
• Participate in internal and external audits and QA tasks.
• Support investigations related to production events.
