Job summary

Roundhouse Recruitment is seeking an Area Sales Manager (Mechanical Reliability) to own a growing portfolio, including McLaren F1 and BMW, with home-based and field-based work in Southern England. You will drive technical sales of vibration-analysis equipment, develop relationships with engineering leaders, and structure your own diary with autonomy and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Technical sales / Account management / BDM experience within Mechanical engineering or a related industrial sector.
• A recognised Mechanical engineering qualification and a good understanding of electromechanical machinery.
• Experience selling industrial equipment, engineering products or technical services such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, rotating equipment.
• Strong account management, relationship-building and customer service skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and manage an established customer portfolio.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the territory, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop an existing portfolio of blue-chip and industrial customer accounts, including McLaren F1 and BMW.
• Build relationships with engineering managers, maintenance teams and technical decision-makers.
• Understand customers' mechanical equipment and reliability requirements, recommending appropriate technical solutions.
• Sell specialist condition-monitoring and vibration-analysis equipment to industrial customers.
• Manage your own territory, diary and customer appointments, averaging approximately four customer-site visits per week.
• Work remotely between customer visits, with genuine flexibility to structure your working week.
• Develop your technical knowledge through accredited specialist training in vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
