Job summary

Konker in Royal Leamington Spa is seeking an architectural technologist to provide technical solutions for various building projects. You will work with a friendly team, focusing on quality in non-standard designs and developments.

• You will work out technical solutions for buildings where off the peg answers rarely fit, not pull standard designs from a library.
• Genuine variety, from listed buildings to sensitive new build and change of use refurbishment.

• Scope to help bring Revit into the practice over time, alongside the current CAD setup.
• Office based in Leamington Spa, easy to reach from across Warwickshire and the wider Midlands.

The role

• Technical support and production drawing across a range of live projects.
• Developing clear, well-informed detailing for non-standard situations, particularly around traditional materials and construction.
• Applying a sound working knowledge of the Building Regulations to historic and altered buildings.
• Producing drawings to a high presentation standard.
• Working closely with the wider team to keep quality consistent from early design through to site.

What you will need

• A background as an architectural technologist, ideally with some exposure to older or non-standard buildings.
• Strong detailing skills and a good grasp of the Building Regulations.
• A real willingness to investigate and develop technical solutions, rather than reach for a standard answer.
• Confident CAD skills. The practice works in VectorWorks; if you are coming from AutoCAD or Revit, training and support are provided and most people pick it up quickly.
• Extensive conservation experience is welcome but not essential. The right attitude and technical instinct matter more.
