Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd seeks a Senior Arboricultural Consultant to join our established team in Birmingham, with choice of Manchester or Birmingham base and flexible travel across the UK.

You will perform BS5837 surveys, tree-condition and risk inspections, and draft arboricultural reports, schedules and protection plans using AutoCAD. Expect collaboration with clients and authorities, plus varied projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• BS5837 survey and report-writing experience.
• Knowledge of BS5837:2012, BS3998:2010 and the UK planning system.
• Experience with tree-condition/risk inspections.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Arboricultural Consultant will conduct BS5837 surveys, tree-condition and risk inspections, and prepare arboricultural reports and schedules.
• Support Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements and produce tree constraints and protection plans using AutoCAD.
• Provide site monitoring and supervision, liaise with clients and local authorities, and contribute to development and tree-management projects across sectors.

The Role

The Senior Arboricultural Consultant will undertake BS5837 tree surveys, tree-condition and risk inspections, prepare arboricultural reports and schedules, and support Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements. You will also produce tree constraints and protection plans using AutoCAD, provide site monitoring and supervision, liaise with clients and local authorities, and contribute to development and tree-management projects across residential, commercial, infrastructure and public-sector sectors.

About You

• Relevant qualification in arboriculture, forestry or a related discipline
• 3+ years' relevant arboricultural experience
• Strong BS5837 survey and report-writing experience
• Knowledge of BS5837:2012, BS3998:2010 and the UK planning system
• Experience with tree-condition/risk inspections
• Strong tree identification and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licenceExperience with AutoCAD, GIS/GPS or digital survey systems is advantageous
• LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection, QTRA or relevant professional membership would be beneficial
