Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer (Manager) to lead technical delivery across AI projects for financial services, public sector, and private sector clients in a hybrid London/UK role.

You will architect enterprise-grade AI services, mentor engineers, and drive Responsible AI practices while collaborating with Microsoft/OpenAI via Azure OpenAI Service. Travel UK-wide with client engagements is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong software and systems engineering experience across Python/TypeScript and distributed systems.
• Applied AI expertise: LLM/RAG engineering, evaluation, telemetry, and versioning.
• Cloud architecture across Azure/AWS/GCP with Kubernetes/Docker and IAM.
• Data engineering depth: Spark/Databricks; cloud-native data and AI architectures.
• Enterprise integration and SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, runbooks, rollback).
• Consulting leadership: stakeholder management, budgets and risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across solution threads and set direction.
• Mentor engineers and ensure production-ready systems (reliability, observability, security).
• Architect enterprise-grade AI services and drive Responsible AI practices.
• Champion reusable architectures and contribute to knowledge sharing.
