Macstaff is seeking an Applications Engineer (Sealing & Hydraulics) near Cirencester to own product applications from enquiry through design, development, manufacture and release. You will apply your expertise in sealing systems, hydraulics and materials to develop innovative solutions for demanding customers.

The role requires hands-on design experience, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate with customers and internal teams.

Formación

• Experience in mechanical design and applications engineering within manufacturing.
• Knowledge of O-rings, sealing products, hydraulic systems or related fluid-power applications.
• Understanding of elastomers, polymers and composites.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software and GD&T.

Responsabilidades

• Design, specify and develop precision components (O-rings, seals, bearings).
• Provide technical guidance on sealing systems, hydraulics, materials and design.
• Create and approve 3D CAD drawings with SolidWorks, including GD&T and tolerances.
• Select engineering materials (PTFE, PEEK, elastomers, plastics, composites).
• Offer expert customer support, including site visits and reviews.
• Investigate performance issues and propose engineering fixes.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing and sales for delivery.
• Support QA and continuous improvement (ISO 9001, PPAP, FMEA, FAI).
