Job summary
Cirencester, Gloucestershire is seeking a Design and Applications Engineer to own sealing and hydraulic applications from enquiry to design and release. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, Sales and Engineering to deliver technically robust solutions.
Required: hands-on sealing experience, hydraulics knowledge, SolidWorks, and GD&T. UK Driving Licence. Relocation support and a strong benefits package are provided.
Qualifications
- Experience in Design or Applications engineering role.
- Hands-on with sealing products across elastomeric, thermoplastic & composite materials.
- Strong hydraulics knowledge & fluid power applications.
- Proficient in SolidWorks with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Motorsport or related industries advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Act as technical contact for sealing and hydraulic applications.
- Provide guidance on seal selection, design and materials.
- Design and specify hydraulic sealing solutions.
- Create 3D/2D designs in SolidWorks with drawings, GD&T.
- Carry out material selections for elastomeric and thermoplastic seals.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers on manufacturing processes and tolerances.
- Apply DfM and DfA across machining, molding and finishing processes.
- Support quality activities (PPAP, FAI, NCR, FMEA, 8D).
- Prepare technical documentation and validation reports.
- Visit customer and supplier sites as required.
