Samsara is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to drive the overarching direction for application security and vulnerability management. This high-visibility role will influence a broad surface area while allowing deep dives into critical priorities as security needs evolve.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud/security engineering and vulnerability management across multi-product environments.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, and JavaScript.
• Ability to independently set technical/architectural direction and drive remediation across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, operation, and continuous improvement of the vulnerability management program and other core security programs.
• Own MTTR reduction across the backlog and SLAs.
• Build automation and tooling to scale detection and response across cloud, firmware/IoT, and corporate systems.
• Set technical direction translating leadership priorities into execution plans.
• Mentor engineers on secure design and remediation practices and provide actionable guidance.
• Communicate risk and remediation tradeoffs to engineering leadership in actionable terms.
• Participate in security incident investigations involving high-profile vulnerabilities.
• Be on-call regularly to support critical vulnerability response.
