Job summary

Navan is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to design, build, and enhance our mobile applications in the business expense management space. You will work with an international team of engineers and domain experts to deliver new features and raise the quality of our product.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Android development, strong Kotlin skills, Jetpack Compose, MVVM architecture, and experience with the full app lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing high-quality Android applications.
• Strong understanding of the full app development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and building user interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK: App components, lifecycle, notifications, deep links, battery modes, network state, persisting data, and permissions.
• Experience with concurrency (coroutines) and MVVM architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship Android features in a large production app.
• Contribute to Android infrastructure to keep delivery fast and reliable.
• Review code, provide feedback, and write technical documentation to improve coding practices.
• Lead development initiatives and raise the bar for existing code, practices, or architecture.
• Participate in decisions on technology, design, and product direction.
• Triage product and application issues and respond quickly to user problems.
