Job summary

Freetrade is looking for an experienced Android engineer to lead feature development and maintain a high-quality mobile app. You will collaborate with design, product and QE teams to deliver robust experiences and set architectural standards.

You will work across a modern stack including Jetpack Compose, GraphQL APIs and Kotlin, with mentoring responsibilities and a hybrid work setup across London and Budapest.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production-grade mobile apps.
• Strong knowledge of Android architecture (MVVM/MVI).
• Proficient in Kotlin, Dagger, Jetpack Compose.
• Good understanding of GraphQL and backend integration.
• Experience with coroutines, flow or Rx.
• Familiar with Git and collaborative development practices.
• Understanding CI/build tooling like CircleCI.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of new features for the Android app.
• Own features end-to-end with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain high code quality through reviews and testing.
• Resolve complex issues and reduce technical debt.
• Drive engineering standards and practices improvements.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
• Participate in a support rota to resolve customer issues.
