Job summary

Midnite is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead the technical delivery of customer-facing Android experiences in its Core team. You will own significant features end-to-end, shape scalable architecture, and stay hands-on with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

Collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering, you will translate customer problems into polished releases, mentor peers, and raise Android platform quality as the product scales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial native Android development.
• Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose experience.
• Experience shipping Android apps on Google Play.
• Ability to lead features from discovery to delivery.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and release of significant customer-facing Android features.
• Own end-to-end technical work: clarify the problem, shape the approach, manage trade-offs, ship safely.
• Set and evolve Android architecture, modularisation, and engineering practices as the product scales.
• Build hands-on with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, producing maintainable, well-tested code.
• Drive performance, reliability, accessibility, and a polished customer experience.
• Lead code reviews and raise standards for testing, observability, and release quality.
• Mentor and support other engineers, sharing context and Android expertise across the team.
• Influence product and technical decisions with Product, Design, Backend, Web, iOS, and the wider Android discipline.
