Job summary

Wise is seeking an Android Engineer to join the Design Systems team in London. You will build and scale reusable UI components using Compose, integrate with the design tokens system, and help define cross-team APIs while ensuring accessibility and performance across Wise's mobile products.

You will collaborate with Product Designers, Web and iOS teams, and other mobile engineers to raise UX and code quality, mentoring peers and contributing to RFCs and documentation.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in building reusable UI components and tooling with Compose.
• Experience integrating with theme architecture and managing design tokens globally.
• Ability to build clean, flexible APIs for other developers to integrate.
• Experience with visual regression testing and UI performance optimization.
• Strong commitment to accessible interfaces and inclusive design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full feature lifecycle from discovery to release and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and support other product teams in resolving issues.
• Represent Design Systems initiatives to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful experiences for internal and external users.
• Mentor new Wise engineers and promote best practices for tooling and documentation.
