Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a senior civil/structural engineer to lead the design and verification of civil engineering works for buildings on the nuclear island. You will receive work from the team leader and produce comprehensive calculation notes and specifications.

Key tasks include coordinating CAD design, validating input data, and managing anchorage and fastenings in concrete, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of civil design experience.
• Experience in a design office environment.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes related to civil engineering and concrete design.
• Knowledge of reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures.
• Ability to handle design and layout constraints.
• Familiarity with ANSYS or similar FEA tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce deliverables such as assumption notes, technical specifications, and calculation notes.
• Coordinate CAD design with the Design Office Manager.
• Perform design activities for fastenings in concrete.
• Conduct technical verifications of civil engineering documents for buildings.
• Create and maintain the Design Risk Register.
• Responsible for anchorage design activities.
• Receive, analyse and verify input data and assign work.”
