Job summary

Compare The Market is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to advance a modern, self-serve analytics platform. You will deliver scalable data solutions and own complex data problems across the business.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Analytics, Technology, and Data Platform teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to technical strategy while shaping the roadmap in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This hybrid role is based in London or Peterborough and offers the opportunity to influence

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL expertise and strong hands-on experience with DBT and analytics engineering domains.
• Strong Python or scripting experience with automation and scalable data solutions.
• Proven experience delivering complex analytics, reporting, and BI solutions from discovery through to adoption.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, testing, performance optimisation, data quality, and reliability engineering practices.
• Experience leading multiple workstreams and collaborating across teams.
• Mentoring and coaching experience, raising engineering standards and developing others.
• Experience with modern engineering practices including Git, CI/CD, automation, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Interest in AI-enabled tooling and modern ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Leading delivery across multiple complex data and analytics workstreams and shaping strategy with analytics leadership.
• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable analytics solutions using SQL, DBT, Python, and modern data platform technologies.
• Owning complex data incidents from identification to root cause analysis and prevention.
• Mentoring and developing engineers and helping teams deliver independently.
• Partnering with Product, Analytics, Technology, and Data Platform teams to deliver trusted data products and insights.
