Xcede is seeking a Head of Analytics Engineering to lead the evolution of its modern data platform and analytics capability in a fast-growing tech environment. You will own analytics engineering, drive scalable data transformation and semantic modelling, and oversee data products used by product, operations and leadership teams.

The role combines technical strategy, platform direction and people leadership, in a collaborative, AI-driven environment focused on real-time decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading Analytics Engineering or Data Platform teams in modern cloud environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of dbt, SQL and modern warehouse technologies.
  • Comfortable operating as a player‑coach in highly technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of scalable data architecture and data quality principles.
  • Experience in high-growth or product-led businesses with clear stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the roadmap for analytics engineering and data modelling.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Analytics Engineers.
  • Drive best practices across data modelling, testing, governance and observability.
  • Partner with software engineering and product teams to improve upstream data quality.

Job description

A rapidly scaling technology business is looking for a Head of Analytics Engineering to lead the evolution of its modern data platform and analytics capability.

Operating in a highly data-intensive environment, the company is investing heavily in the systems, tooling, and infrastructure that support real-time operational and commercial decision-making. This is a key leadership hire with significant visibility across the business.

You’ll take ownership of the analytics engineering function, overseeing the development of scalable transformation frameworks, semantic modelling, and data products used across product, operations, and leadership teams. The role will combine technical strategy, platform direction, and people leadership.

The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong engineering culture and a genuine appetite for leveraging automation and AI-driven workflows to improve how data is consumed across the organisation.
