Job summary

Material Bank in London is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join Analytics & Insights. You will own end-to-end analytics engineering and deliver reliable data models, dashboards, and semantic definitions.

You will work with Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau to provide trusted metrics across teams and brands. A hybrid arrangement is expected, with collaboration across departments and data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a similar technical analytics role.
• Expert SQL on large and complex datasets with clean, efficient queries.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake and dbt, including dimensional modeling and testing.
• Strong Tableau skills; Sigma/Looker or similar are a plus.
• Strong judgment on metric design: grain, denominators, filters, time zones, deduplication.
• Commercial sense and curiosity about what numbers mean for the business.
• Automation mindset to reduce repetition and fragility.
• Ability to work across several domains and manage stakeholders.
• Clear, concise communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Python for automation (preferred), marketplace analytics experience (preferred).
• Event/data behaviors (Segment, GA4) and AI-assisted analytics (Snowflake Cortex) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own analytics engineering for assigned business domains, translating definitions into data models, dashboards, and insights.
• Design, build, and maintain dbt models in Snowflake that power reporting and self-serve analytics.
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in metric logic to ensure a single source of truth.
• Build high-value dashboards in Tableau and expand to Sigma/Looker as stack evolves.
• Contribute to the semantic layer so metrics are reusable across BI tools and embedded analytics.
• Automate recurring analytics work with tests and monitoring to maintain trust.
• Partner with analysts and stakeholders to interpret data, build context, and surface risks.
• Contribute to brand-facing data products used by account teams and manufacturers.
