Job summary

Currys is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our Waterloo-based team with hybrid working. You will develop and maintain dbt models, ensure data quality, and optimise performance to deliver trusted datasets for analytics and BI.

You will collaborate with data engineers and business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions, build dashboards, and enable self-service analytics across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Analytics or related technical field is desirable.
• dbt certification beneficial and analytics platform knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Snowflake/Databricks or similar platforms recommended.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dbt models transforming raw data into trusted analytics datasets.
• Implement data quality tests and monitoring for accuracy and reliability.
• Optimise query performance with dimensional modelling and materialisation strategies.
• Document data models, KPIs, and metrics definitions in data dictionaries.
• Build reusable data models to support self-service analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Work with data engineers to define requirements for new sources and pipelines.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and anomalies in business performance.
• Create interactive dashboards and reports for self-service analytics.
• Design visualisations to communicate complex data stories clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
