Job summary

Material Bank is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer in London (Hybrid, 2 days in office) to own analytics data models, reporting, and data products. You will translate metric definitions into Snowflake/dbt models, power dashboards, and the semantic layer used across teams.

You will work across departments to ensure a single source of truth, build reliable models, and automate analytics workflows while partnering with analysts and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a similar technical analytics role.
• Expert SQL on large and complex datasets.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake and dbt, including dimensional modeling and testing.
• Strong Tableau skills; Sigma/Looker a plus.
• Strong judgment on metric design: grain, denominators, filters, time zones.
• Automation mindset to reduce repetitive work.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics engineering for assigned business domains from metric definition to dashboard and insight.
• Build and maintain dbt models in Snowflake turning definitions into reliable models.
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in metric logic; ensure a single source of truth.
• Create high-value dashboards in Tableau (Sigma as stack evolves).
• Contribute to semantic layer for reusable metrics across BI tools.
• Automate recurring analytics work with tests and monitoring.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to surface risks and provide context.
• Contribute to data products used by account teams and brand partners.
