Job summary

Scrambly in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to build and run the data platform behind the commercial side, including pipelines and models that govern spend, rewards, and ecosystem safety.

You will maintain pipelines turning raw events and advertiser feeds into trusted tables and use them to size opportunities, set thresholds, and inform business decisions. This is an early data-role with close collaboration across Data, Backend, UA, and Account Management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, BI development, or a closely related role.
• Strong SQL and solid analytical data modelling: layered warehouse design, incremental models, and real-world logic.
• Analytical judgement and ability to translate commercial questions into metrics and recommendations.
• Google Cloud experience is strongly preferred: BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Pub/Sub, IAM.
• Python for data work, and familiarity with Git and code review.
• Curiosity and comfort with unfamiliar systems; able to read code and data you didn’t write.
• English at B2+; written and spoken; documenting systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and model: maintain analytical pipelines in Dataform on BigQuery from source data to consumer tables.
• Analyse and recommend: answer commercial questions with data and set thresholds.
• Take ownership: maintain pipelines you didn’t write and keep them in production.
• Make data trustworthy: add testing, assertions, and alerting on models used for decisions.
• Raise the engineering bar: manage warehouse cost, improve performance, and standardise practices.
• Collaborate: work with Head of Data, Data Scientists, Backend, UA, and Account Management.
