Job summary

THG Beauty in Manchester is seeking a Senior Analyst - Commercial (Beauty) to own analytical work across category and brand performance, helping buying and trading teams make better commercial decisions. You will build analyses, report KPIs, and identify opportunities and risks through data.

You will write and maintain SQL queries, collaborate with the Engineering team on the data model, and develop dashboards and reports that communicate performance clearly to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Why be a Senior Analyst - Commercial (Beauty) at THG?

As Senior Analyst in the Beauty Commercial team, you will own analytical work that helps THG's Beauty division understand and improve its commercial performance. Working across category and brand analytics, you will build the analysis and insight that enables buying and commercial teams to make better decisions. This is one of three Senior Analyst roles in the Beauty Commercial team.

As a Senior Analyst - Commercial (Beauty), you will:

Commercial Analytics

• Own analytical projects across commercial performance - predominantly on category and brand analytics while also supporting pricing, promotional effectiveness, subscriptions performance
• Build analysis that helps the business understand what drives commercial performance
• Develop and maintain commercial KPI reporting
• Identify commercial opportunities and risks through data

Technical Delivery

• Write and maintain SQL queries and analytical scripts
• Work with the Engineering team to understand the commercial data model
• Build dashboards and reports that communicate commercial performance clearly

Stakeholder Engagement

• Present findings to the Commercial Lead and Beauty commercial stakeholders
• Manage ad hoc analytical requests from buying and trading teams

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

Essential

• Experience (typically 3+ years) in commercial analytics, trading analytics or similar
• Strong SQL skills
• Strong storytelling skills
• Proven ability to work independently

Desirable

• Experience in beauty, lifestyle, fashion or e-commerce environments
• Experience analysing commercial performance - on category or brand performance data
• Experience with Tableau, Looker or equivalent BI tooling

• Deep expertise in commercial analytics
• Accountable for own targets with minimal supervision
• Understands how commercial analytics connects to revenue, margin and trading outcomes
