Job summary
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a senior Pharmacist to lead the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) programme across the Trust. You will work with the Somerset Consultant AMS Pharmacist and stakeholders to drive high-quality AMS delivery, influence antimicrobial prescribing, and align strategies across Somerset health sectors.
The role requires a Masters in Pharmacy with advanced AMS training, independent prescribing, and a track record in clinical pharmacy leadership.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent is essential.
- Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or General Pharmacy Practice is essential.
- Registered independent prescriber status is essential.
- Further training in infection management or AMS is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead AMS programme delivery and ensure adherence to NHSE AMR strategy.
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship and infection management services.
- Collaborate with microbiology, infection prevention and control teams, and NHS Somerset ICB.
- Support research, audit and continuous professional development within the AMS team.
