Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking an AML and Sanctions Compliance Principal Associate in Nottingham. The role operates in a hybrid model with three days in office (Tue–Thu) and two days remote, integrating with the FCC team to drive the UK AML Work Programme.

You’ll mentor investigators, define standards, and support training to ensure high-quality SARs and robust controls, contributing to a strong compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the UK financial crime regulatory framework (Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG, Proceeds of Crime Act).
• Proven experience leading teams through end-to-end financial crime investigations in high-volume consumer credit environments.
• Ability to document investigation decisions for high-quality SAR submissions.
• Commitment to continuous professional development through accredited bodies (ICA, ACAMS).

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the Financial Crime Delivery Team, providing leadership and advisory support for investigators.
• Driving the AML Work Programme by ensuring timely, accurate delivery of key projects and reports.
• Managing Suspicious Activity Reviews (SARs) with the MLRO and ensuring decisions are well-documented and compliant.
• Strengthening the Control Environment by aligning AML requirements with UK standards and addressing audit findings.
