Job summary

Capital One UK in Nottingham is seeking a senior AML and sanctions professional to design, coordinate and implement a robust risk management programme from onboarding through ongoing monitoring.

The role reports to the UK MLRO and requires deep knowledge of UK financial crime frameworks, including MLRs, JMLSG guidance, POCA and OFSI sanctions regimes, with a proven track record in high-volume environments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of UK financial crime framework including MLRs, JMLSG guidance, POCA and OFSI sanctions regimes.
• Experience conducting end-to-end financial crime reviews in high-volume environments, bridging gaps between first- and second-line.
• Accredited industry qualifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) demonstrating ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement bespoke, risk-based AML processes focusing on CDD (identifying/verifying legal entities, UBOs, Directors, PSCs) and screening.
• Ensure AML projects, system implementations and compliance reports are delivered accurately and on time.
• Write/update policies, procedures and annual training to stay practical and fit for purpose.
• Provide coaching and QA to improve SAR quality and control effectiveness.
• Maintain alignment with UK regulatory standards and JMLSG guidance; test and tune monitoring rules.
