Job summary

CGI is seeking a Senior Algorithmic Software Developer to own and advance algorithms for space surveillance and tracking. You will lead a small development team, guide technical decisions and review quality while collaborating with senior leads on approaches and priorities.

The role merges applied mathematics, software engineering and analytics to deliver robust, trustworthy capabilities. Hybrid work from Leatherhead, with travel in the UK/Europe.

Qualifications

• Proven experience applying mathematical concepts to software or algorithm development.
• Experience developing algorithms with attention to numerical accuracy.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Python; willingness to extend to other languages.
• Leadership or guidance experience for small development teams is a plus.
• Background in space or related tech domains is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small development team with direction, mentoring and code reviews.
• Design and deliver robust algorithms for space surveillance and tracking.
• Explore techniques in orbit determination, flight dynamics and ML.
• Define validation strategies for numerical accuracy and software quality.
• Collaborate with senior technical leads and stakeholders to align approaches.
• Produce reports and technical findings for internal and external audiences.
• Support business development and broaden the team's capabilities.
