Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Airport Engineer to help deliver major UK and international airport infrastructure projects, including airfield pavements, taxiways, aprons and terminal-related works. You will lead technical delivery, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and mentor a growing team across feasibility through handover.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or extensive experience and the ability to become chartered within 12 months.
• Knowledge of either Airport or Highways pavement design, materials specification and maintenance with an appreciation of principles and application of UK and international pavement design methods.
• Experience in leading engineering teams in the delivery of high-quality design deliverables
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build client relationships and support work-winning activities.
• Ability to prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
• A passion for solving complex engineering challenges.
• A commitment to innovation, sustainability and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil engineering solutions for airport infrastructure projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, efficient and sustainable airport infrastructure solutions.
• Act as a technical lead, providing guidance, technical assurance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and design packages.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airport operators, clients, stakeholders and project partners.
• Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement and the adoption of emerging technologies and best practice.
• Identify opportunities to enhance project outcomes and deliver additional value for clients, airport users and local communities.
