Job summary

Gold Group seeks a Senior Mechanical Stress/Structural Engineer to lead certification activities for major aircraft modifications, focusing on external fuselage antenna changes on both metallic and composite airframes.

The role requires expert CS-25 Subpart C knowledge, hands-on analysis (hand calcs and FEM), and experience in an EASA Part 21J DOA environment. Onsite Frimley, 12-month contract, with hybrid options after induction.

Qualifications

• Background as a Stress Engineer or Structural Engineer.
• Expert knowledge of EASA CS-25 Subpart C (Structures).
• Primary structures analysis (Static, Fatigue, Damage Tolerance) using FEM and hand calcs.
• Composite experience preferred; metallic experience required.
• Technical writing skills for structural substantiation reports.
• Aerospace experience, CVE in EASA Part 21J environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct design analysis using hand calculations and FEM.
• Perform fatigue, damage tolerance, and static structural analysis.
• Carry out drawing reviews and compose compliance/stress reports.
• Support primary structure modification certification activities within an EASA Part 21J / DOA environment.
