Job summary

AALTO in Farnborough seeks a Senior Stress Engineer to own structural analysis across the aircraft lifecycle, from concept to production support and service improvements. Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural stress analysis within aviation or aerospace.
• Experience with FEA and hand calculations.
• Knowledge of composite materials and analysis methods.
• Proficiency with ANSYS, Nastran or equivalent tools.
• Ability to translate requirements into robust analytical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural analysis activities across the design and development process.
• Conduct material selection and design trade studies during preliminary design phases.
• Develop and maintain structural design records using historical data and analyses.
• Provide structural engineering support to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to develop detailed design solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional product development teams.
• Plan and support structural and materials testing for validation and certification.
• Lead or contribute to engineering reviews for assigned work packages.
• Support production by investigating repairs, concessions, and deviation requests.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge within the discipline.
