Job summary

Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape scalable, AI-powered web applications and back-end services. You will contribute to a containerized, cloud-based platform, blending modern web technologies with AI expertise to deliver reliable, scalable software.

You will join a high-impact team, work across design-to-deploy cycles, and help advance AI-assisted workflows while collaborating with multiple disciplines to ship features that delight millions of users daily.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong background in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern development workflows (GitHub/GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver high-quality web applications and back-end services with modern frameworks and technologies.
• Collaborate with UX designers, software engineers, dev-ops, QA, and product management.
• Build and integrate AI-powered features into web applications and enterprise tools.
• Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions to power chatbot interactions
• Work independently and with teammates to deliver features on schedule.
• Plan features with the team; propose innovative, collaborative designs.
• Develop new features and write tests to ensure code quality.
• Work with CI/CD to meet quality and scaling requirements.
• Improve our software delivery process to reduce waste and add value.
• See a feature from design to customer-facing deployment.
• Dig deep to solve challenging user-facing problems.
