Job summary

Roku is seeking talented engineers to build massively scalable platform services used by millions of devices worldwide. You will own components end-to-end, from ideation through production deployment and support, collaborating with product and design teams.

The role emphasizes evaluating new technologies, promoting best practices, and delivering on tight timelines in a hybrid work setting with Friday remote options.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in CS, CE, or equivalent.
• Strong software development experience, preferably in Java; Python is a plus.
• Experience with large-scale cloud services, ideally on AWS.
• Experience with in-memory caches (Redis/Memcached).
• Experience monitoring deploy quality and troubleshooting production systems.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end web architecture from device to data center.

Responsibilities

• Build extremely large-scale platform products and services for engineers and consumers.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to iterate and deploy through production.
• Lead evaluation of new technologies and promote best practices across the lifecycle.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Participate in Agile processes from scoping to maintenance.
