Job summary

Perceptic is hiring a Senior UX/Design Engineer to bridge design and engineering at the seam of frontend and backend. You will shape the look and behavior of a production-grade UI that scientists rely on for high-stakes AI reasoning, surfacing provenance, citations, and confidence as first‑class UI elements.

You’ll own end-to-end UX—from rough sketches to shipped features—emphasizing streaming AI, latency, and performance.

Qualifications

4+ years of professional engineering experience, frontend-heavy with broad full-stack range.
Shipped production AI or product UIs with streaming, latency, and trust considerations.
Deep frontend craft across React/TypeScript, modern CSS, accessibility, animation, and performance.

Responsibilities

Own the look, feel, and interaction quality from prototype to production UI.
Build interfaces that surface provenance, citations, and confidence in AI reasoning.
Develop streaming AI interfaces with live agent runs, partial states, tool calls, and reasoning steps.
Create a design system and component library that scales across the platform.
Prototype across fidelity levels, collaborating with founders and engineers and minimizing handoff.
Focus on motion, micro-interactions, latency, and perceived performance under production data.
Contribute 20% backend work: API and data-fetching layers and lightweight services.
