Job summary

Deel is seeking a senior individual contributor to design and build the AI-driven product substrate. You will balance design and code, shaping the design system, tokens, and component architecture while crafting production-ready interfaces.

You will partner with design leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure high craft and scalable workflows across the organization. A strong front-end background and hands-on practice are essential.

Qualifications

• Design: real taste for layout, typography, interaction, motion; polish is important.
• Code & prototype: comfortable with TS/React; prototype fast between Figma and code.

Responsibilities

• Build the system that lets AI build products - Architect the design system, tokens, and components as the substrate AI generates against.
• Design hands-on to prove it - stay a practicing designer and prototype in production front-end code.
• Own quality, guardrails, and evals - define production-readiness criteria for AI-generated UI and fidelity benchmarks.
• Drive the AI workflow across the design org - collaborate with design leadership to roll out AI-native workflow.
• Work cross-functionally - collaborate with Engineering, Product, and design-system contributors.
• Push into generative UI - prototype AI-generated interfaces as a product capability.
• Level up the team - create playbooks and enablement for the wider design org.
