Job summary

Nerdio, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a growing AI-native R&D team of 10+ engineers. This dual-track role combines people management with hands-on coding, architecture, and technical execution.

You will drive responsible AI‑assisted development practices while maintaining code quality, security, and architectural discipline. You will own end-to-end technical execution, turn ambiguous needs into testable specs, and ensure production readiness or transfer to product

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience with coaching, performance management, hiring, and team health.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals across backend development, distributed systems, API design, testing, and clean code.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows in real software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the team, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Run effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations.
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers in a fast-moving environment.
• Create an inclusive, psychologically safe team environment.
• Balance people leadership with hands-on engineering and architectural credibility.
• Set and uphold a high engineering bar for architecture, testing, and security.
