Job summary

Aviva plc in the UK seeks an AI Model Risk & Governance Lead to oversee independent validation of advanced analytics and AI models across pricing, reserving and customer segmentation. You will partner with model owners and risk teams to challenge and strengthen governance and regulatory compliance.

The role focuses on validating models, developing tooling and methodologies, and shaping Aviva's approach to responsible data and AI under Solvency UK considerations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in model validation, model risk management, model review or quantitative risk roles.
• Strong knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning and AI models, including experience providing independent challenge and oversight.
• Ability to analyse complex quantitative methods and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams, including risk, analytics, technology and business functions.
• Qualified actuary or equivalent quantitative professional experience would be highly desirable. Knowledge of Solvency UK requirements and capital modelling would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and assurance across a broad range of business-critical models.
• Validate and review advanced analytics and AI models, including pricing, reserving, customer segmentation and productivity-enhancing solutions.
• Assess model performance, governance and regulatory compliance, delivering independent challenge.
• Contribute to development of validation tools, methodologies and challenger models to strengthen analytics oversight.
