Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in London seeks an Applied AI & Machine Learning Senior Associate in the Asset Management Data Science Team to design scalable, secure LLM-powered investment tools and robust data pipelines.

You will collaborate with investment, data science, engineering, product, and control teams to translate complex workflows into practical, governance-first solutions, applying state-of-the-art AI techniques in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Holds a Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics or engineering.
• Demonstrates hands-on experience building, deploying, and scaling LLM-powered applications, including retrieval, tools, workflow orchestration, and evaluation.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data and ML libraries and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable architecture for LLM-powered investment tools with governance, observability, and access control
• Build and scale AI applications and automated workflows using models, retrieval, and tools with state management and human oversight
• Develop context-management and retrieval-augmented generation capabilities including ingestion, embeddings, and hybrid search
• Create reliable data and knowledge pipelines transforming enterprise content into high-quality AI inputs
• Establish engineering standards for reusable tools and model integrations, including testing and documentation
• Implement evaluation and end-to-end observability for AI systems focusing on quality and cost
• Partner with portfolio managers and research teams to translate investment processes into practical solutions
