Job summary

Insight Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to lead the design, delivery and scaling of high‑impact AI solutions for strategic customers. You will operate across discovery, prototyping and production, working closely with Solution Architects and multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid Bristol environment.

You will own implementation priorities, mentor engineers and ensure secure, observable AI deployments while aligning with enterprise risk requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering software, AI, ML or applied AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong software engineering with Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Hands-on with foundation models, LLM APIs and AI platforms.
• Experience with generative AI patterns including RAG and tool calling.
• Experience designing evaluation approaches for AI quality and safety.
• Experience integrating AI with enterprise data, APIs and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex AI engagements, owning implementation and priorities.
• Translate ambiguous business challenges into practical AI solutions with customers.
• Prototype, test and iterate AI solutions to validate feasibility and value.
• Design, build and deploy production‑grade generative AI and related solutions.
• Remain hands‑on, contributing code, integrations and evaluations.
• Collaborate with architects to translate requirements into designs and approaches.
• Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems, data, APIs and workflows.
• Establish evaluation, guardrails, oversight and monitoring for AI deployments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex deployment issues; conduct reviews and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate across Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Research and Customer Success.
• Create reusable frameworks and solution patterns from delivery experience.
• Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, governance and risk requirements.
• Explain AI concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
