Job summary

Much Better Adventures is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own our Snowflake warehouse and dbt projects, with ~300 models and 1,700 tests. You’ll manage daily ingestions from ~25 sources using Dagster and ensure accurate commissions and bookings data for business decisions.

You’ll work in a remote-first team, deploying AWS infrastructure via CDK and driving observability with Datadog, while shaping an AI-first data platform strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and hands-on production experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake).
• Solid dbt experience including incremental models and tests.
• Experience with web tracking instrumentation (Segment) and event schemas.
• Confident Python for ingestion and orchestration code.
• Experience with modern orchestrators (Dagster/Airflow/Prefect).
• Infrastructure-as-code and cloud fundamentals (CDK or Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake warehouse and dbt project with ~300 models and 1,700 data tests.
• Manage business numbers: commissions, cancellations, bookings, attribution.
• Own daily ingestion from ~25 sources via dlt and Dagster (Segment, HubSpot, ads).
• Run AWS infrastructure defined in CDK: Step Functions, Lambda, S3, Athena, Iceberg.
• Lead observability in Datadog with dashboards, monitors and cost visibility.
• Maintain system health and prevent reoccurrence of issues.
• Leverage AI tools and shape an AI-first data team approach.
