Job summary

Gigs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and improve our company-wide data platform. You will work across usage data, billing, product analytics, and finance data, shaping architecture and standards as the team scales.

You’ll predominantly use Python and SQL, with Dagster as our orchestrator, and own cloud infrastructure via Terraform. Collaboration across Finance, Product, and other teams is essential to deliver trusted data products.

Qualifications

• Production data platforms designed and operated, with attention to ingestion, storage, modeling, orchestration and reliability.
• Strong data modeling fundamentals with clear data structure trade-offs.
• Business value first mindset; make pragmatic trade-offs between speed and quality.
• Ability to work and decide under ambiguity and partial information.
• Proficient in Python and SQL within cloud data platforms.
• Experience with data orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, Prefect) and IaC (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Build systems turning complex usage data into trustworthy datasets for billing, finance reporting, and product decisions.
• Operate the data platform and pipelines powering business use cases.
• Ingest data from across the business into a unified platform.
• Define and enforce data models and standards for scaling data assets.
• Collaborate with Finance, Network Integration, Product and others to deliver reliable data products.
• Design for correctness and observability with tests and monitoring.
