Job summary

Travel Counsellors is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You will design, build and operate scalable data pipelines and our modern Data Intelligence Platform, working with Snowflake, dbt, Airbyte and cloud services.

You will collaborate with Insights, AI/Data Science and business teams to deliver trusted, observable data—balancing governance with performance—while maintaining legacy SQL Server ecosystems and driving AI agent workflows.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL with production-ready code.
• Practical Python programming for data engineering, automation and production support.
• Strong data modelling and semantic-layer techniques.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms, esp. Snowflake; ability to support/migrate legacy Microsoft data technologies.
• Experience building resilient data integrations (ELT, API, batch or event-driven).
• Knowledge of SDLC including Git, testing, CI/CD and IaC.
• Experience or understanding of AI agent engineering and LLM tool usage.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into secure, reusable data and AI engineering solutions.
• Design, build and operate data pipelines and data products for reporting, analytics, automation and AI.
• Develop and extend the Data Intelligence Platform using Snowflake, dbt, Airbyte and cloud services.
• Monitor data quality, governance and platform health while controlling costs.
• Maintain legacy SQL Server ecosystem and plan migration paths as needed.
• Build and manage AI agents and agentic workflows with governance and observability.
• Collaborate with Data Science/AI, Insights and business teams to deliver measurable value.
