Job summary

Newpage Solutions in the United Kingdom seeks a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer who treats AI as the substrate of software. You will sit close to clients and product leaders, reframe vague problems into concrete, and ship working software end-to-end.

You will shape the idea, build the thing, and stand it up in production yourself. This builder-first, IC role requires fluency with Claude Code, Cursor, agents, eval harnesses, MCP, and modern TypeScript/Python.

Qualifications

• +5+ years of experience building production AI/agentic applications.
• Hands-on with agents, wiring tools to models for multi-step workflows.

Responsibilities

• Problem/Opportunity Discovery: sit with leaders, frame ideas into concrete, buildable plans; aim for a working prototype within a week.
• Build (fast) with AI: develop modular backends in Python/TypeScript with clean architecture and SOLID principles; ship APIs and agents.
• Architect and deploy production-grade agentic apps using LangGraph, AutoGen, Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Assistants, and your orchestration layer.
• Integrate frontier/self-hosted LLMs with tools and external systems via MCP and connectors.
• Apply RAG techniques with vector stores and hybrid retrieval for accurate results.
• Own end-to-end delivery including infrastructure and operations; mentor others in AI engineering best practices.
