Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited is seeking a Senior Security Engineer within the Innovation Engineering team to design, build, and operationalise AI-powered security capabilities for a large retail ecosystem. You will lead efforts across cyber defence, blending AI, automation, and modern development practices to reduce risk and improve resilience.

You will act as a technical leader, shaping engineering direction, raising standards, and influencing across security and technology teams with a customer-first

Qualifications

• Experience applying AI to cyber defence and delivering outcomes safely with guardrails.
• Ability to design, review and refine AI-enabled systems without compromising security.
• Proven ability to articulate design decisions and defend security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver innovative security capabilities from concept to production with measurable outcomes.
• Embed AI augmented security engineering to accelerate security outcomes.
• Lead modern engineering practices for cyber defence with automation, testing, and scalable solutions.
• Champion secure, test-driven engineering and disciplined change control.
• Share knowledge and inspire teams to scale innovations across the organisation.
• Design evaluation strategies to prove effectiveness and resilience of controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of new capabilities.
