Job summary

Google is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (Applied AI) to lead the transformation of conversational prototypes into production-grade AI solutions at customer sites. You will own end-to-end engineering life cycles, driving real-world business value and secure, scalable AI systems in a high-travel, high-impact role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development using Python or similar coding languages.
• Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience deploying resources using Terraform or similar tools, to automate the setup of agents, functions, or networking.
• Experience building full-stack applications that interact with enterprise IT infrastructures, and developing external customer projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development for Conversational AI and CX applications, moving prototypes to production-grade agentic workflows.
• Architect and code conversational flows connecting Google’s AI products to live infrastructure, including APIs and data silos.
• Build high-performance Eval pipelines and observability frameworks to optimize agent workloads.
• Identify repeatable field patterns in Google’s AI stack and convert them into reusable modules or feature requests.
• Co-build with customer engineering teams to implement Google-grade development practices for long-term success.
