Job summary

BS&A Software seeks a Senior AI Automation & Integration Engineer to lead internal AI-automation and integration initiatives. You will shape how approved models connect to BS&A's systems and data, defining reusable patterns and ensuring reliability and cost-efficiency across production.

This hands-on, leadership-forward role focuses on internal enablement, not model research, with mentorship to peers and a clear path to scalable architecting across the CoE.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of professional software, platform, or integration engineering experience.
• Owns a platform, shared service, or developer-enablement capability end to end.
• Builds integrations/APIs against enterprise systems (SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, Salesforce) with retrieval, tool calling, or orchestration patterns.
• Strong grounding in Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment, and production monitoring at scale.
• Hands-on depth in low-code automation or agent-orchestration environments (e.g., Copilot Studio, Power Platform, n8n, Zapier).
• Knowledge of data classification, authentication, authorization, and secrets management; works with security teams.
• Ability to set technical direction in new spaces and defend decisions to executives.
• Experience with build-versus-buy decisions at portfolio level.
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop workflows and determining where approvals belong.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation architecture for BS&A's shared AI capabilities, including model APIs and gateways, orchestration workflows, and cost controls.
• Translate AI engineering standards into practical patterns and guardrails for teams.
• Decide what is built centrally vs. purchased in partnership with senior leaders.
• Establish and maintain reliability, cost, and scalability standards as adoption grows across departments.
• Lead enterprise AI solution builds and design shared components for departmental teams.
• Own build/buy/configure decisions, including PoCs and cost/quality tradeoffs.
• Apply cost-of-value discipline to keep operating costs within defined bands.
• Mentor engineers toward fluent use of BS&A's AI engineering standards.
