Job summary

GBG, a leader in identity data technology, seeks a Lead AI Technical Architect to drive the architecture, design and delivery of GBG's AI and automation initiatives. You will translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions and provide hands-on leadership to the central AI & Automation team.

You will collaborate with Technology, Data and Infosec to ensure security, privacy and governance, while establishing reusable patterns and engineering standards across GBG.

Qualifications

• Designing and delivering enterprise AI and automation solutions from concept to live.
• Expertise in AI technologies, workflow automation, APIs, and cloud-based applications.
• Hands-on AI with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI-assisted workflows or agentic capabilities.
• Translating business priorities into practical technical solutions and driving them to implementation.
• Owning technical outcomes with momentum while balancing pace, quality and sustainability.
• Experience integrating automation across existing business systems.
• Strong engineering knowledge (incomplete in source).

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture and solution design for AI and automation across GBG.
• Assess and choose technical approaches including AI, automation, and integration.
• Establish reusable solution patterns and integration approaches across functions.
• Provide technical leadership to the central AI & Automation team (staff and contractors).
• Own technical estimates, engineering quality, and delivery readiness.
• Stay involved in delivery through prototyping, design reviews and debugging.
• Plan technical delivery with the project manager and manage dependencies.
• Collaborate with business owners and SMEs to validate designs and outcomes.
• Ensure solutions meet GBG's security, privacy and governance requirements.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, AI reliability, monitoring and deployment.
• Evaluate platforms and promote reuse to avoid complexity or cost.
• Ensure production deployment with documentation and ownership.
• Identify dependencies and enabling capabilities for future opportunities.
• Develop internal engineering capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Measure solution performance to realise expected benefits.
